SIDHistory Moving user accounts between organizational units (OUs) is a relatively painless operation. Because they are still within the same domain and retain the same security identifier (SID), you only need to be concerned about the effects of group policy objects (GPOs) during the move. Moving the user between domains is another issue altogether. A special utility needs to be used to move the user accounts, and when the account is moved, the SID is changed. In order for the user to continue accessing the same resources they had access to within the original domain, you would need to rebuild the access control for every resource.
If you create a new global group, you can add it to the universal group to give the users access to all printers. There are a couple of caveats to using universal groups. First, you should make sure all domains in the forest are in native mode. Native-mode functionality is controlled on a domain-by-domain basis. Users logging on to domains that are in native mode will have their universal group membership enumerated before they log on, but if they log on to a computer in a mixed-mode domain, the universal group membership is ignored.
If you are simply adding an attribute to an object class, make sure none of the existing attributes will support your needs. There are 15 custom attributes that can be used for any purpose. Using these attributes will only cause replication traffic to the domain controllers in the domain where the object exists. If the change needs to be added to the Global Catalog, the change will replicate throughout the forest. Be aware of the additional replication you will be introducing. If you do add an additional attribute or attributes to an object class, the new object class will need to replicate to all domain controllers within the forest.
